Question 109
What are the implications of timed games in an Advantage Play tournament?
Answer
As the winner must run the required number of hoops in order, additional time can be claimed by the players if necessary to achieve this.
Scoring Scales have to be used to identify the Starting Scores for both sides.
As such a tournament would be unfair to the stronger player, who has more hoops to run to win, Advantage Play must not be run under Rule 19 (Timed Games).
It may not be identifiable from the score alone who is winning during a game, nor at the end of a truncated game.
