Individual Croquet Association Membership

You can join the CA as a directly subscribed individual member by clicking the button next to the membership type you want. If you are already subscribed you can renew your membership online.

If you are new to the game, your first step might be to join a club near where you live. Clubs can also be members of the CA - see the section join as a club. As an individual CA Member, you also get the satisfaction of putting something back into the game you enjoy.

You are eligible for Standard membership of the CA if you are a playing member of a club which is a Full member of it. To apply for that, please ask your club secretary to upload your details securely to the CA Website.

If you are a member of a club that has yet to upload its membership data, you can, as a temporary concession that will soon be withdraw, register to enter tournaments: see the section on Registration. The same page can be used to register to enter one of the few tournaments for which CA membership is not a requirement, e.g. the open and student championships.

Notes

Full, Introductory and Direct Debit Rates

By agreeing to complete a Direct Debit subscription, new Premium members pay a substantially reduced rate in their first year, and a reduced rate in their second year. This rate is available only for those who previously have not been Croquet Association Premium (formerly Tournament) member (or equivalent).

The Direct Debit rate applies for payments by Direct Debit from a UK bank and is available online to those who agree to complete a Direct Debit authorisation for renewal, otherwise the Full Rate applies and is payable by credit card or sterling cheque drawn on a UK Bank.

Paperless Rates

The paperless rates offer a discount for viewing The Croquet Gazette and Fixtures Book online, rather than receiving paper copies. To do so, you must register to login to the CA Website and you will be e-mailed when new editions are available.

Duration of Membership

Membership subscriptions are for all or part of a calendar year and fall due on 1 January. A new member joining on or after 1 August in any year, and paying the rate of subscription of the appropriate category, will be entitled to the benefits of that category of membership until 31 December of the following year.

Tournament Play

Competitors in CA Calendar Fixtures in England & Wales must be members of the Croquet Association, playing members of CA Member Clubs, or of World Croquet Federation Member Associations, with exceptions described in Tournament Regulation P1(a)(2). Premium, Overseas and Student members of the Croquet Association get priority entry to tournaments and lower tournament entry fees.

Subscription Rates

All subscription rates are those currently approved by the CA Council, which reviews subscriptions on a regular basis and these rates are subject to change.

Dual Membership (Not Available)

Dual Membership rates, for two people living at the same address, are no longer available, as they have been superseded by the paperless rates.

Registration for Online Tournament Entry

If you are a Member of the Croquet Association, including the new Standard Members, you do not need to register a new account to enter tournaments because one is created for you soon after your details are received by the CA Office.

The login process uses your email address (as notified by you or your club secretary) plus a password that you must set by following the instructions online.

If your email address is not recognised, you should contact your club secretary to make sure your details have been provided to the Croquet Association.

If you do not qualify for Standard Membership because your club is not participating in the scheme, you will need to join the CA as a directly subscribed member.

Reciprocal rights are granted to overseas-resident members of other Associations that belong to the World Croquet Federation. If you wish to claim reciprocal rights to use the online tournament entry system you must register for a Reciprocal Rights account if you have not already done so.

For more details or information, please contact the CA Office.
